SCMS is not a pre-packaged product or template system. It is a steamlined process that is unique for each client. Content management cannot be pre-built and bundled without sacrificing flexibility, project control, and, in the end, the ease of use of your personal system.
SCMS features: multi-user capability, customized edit, publish, and posting rights for each section, module, or table - archive and restore previous versions of the site or a portion of the site - streamline content creation, editing/revision, and publishing processes across large enterprises and/or external content providers - extensive help documentation provided for internal distribution to content providers and maintainers.

Somnia's SCMS development process includes: indepth requirements analysis, project development plan, review, project development, construction, and delivery - training, support, and documentation for your custom built content management system.
Content Types - Each content page will be assigned as either a general content page, or a specialized content page. The specialized content sections are templates, and can be set up and re-used. They include sections such as contact screens, photo galleries etc. This page will be determined in your requirements analysis and custom built for your system.
Graphical pieces, including header graphics, photos, custom jpg and gifs, Flash and executable files, maps and other pieces of artwork, will be tracked. The system maintains a storage bin of useable artwork that can be integrated into the sites through one central location.
Back-end Features: Technologies - SCMS is implemented using ASP technologies, VBscripting, and where applicable, Flash action scripting. The database platform may vary depending on scope of application and the webhosting package implemented for deployment.
The preferred SCMS system is delivered using an SQL Server database. However, if user and access levels are acceptable it may be possible to deploy using something as simple as a Microsoft Access environment which may be an extremely cost effective solution for your needs.
Permissions & Access - In an enterprise level solution the most important features will be access levels, user groups, publishing and writing settings, and overall security of the system.
All permissions and authorization levels are dynamic, maintained by a system administrator or by Somnia, depending on the structure of deployment.
The bottom line is that you can be confident in your system knowing that rules and regulations can be custom built and assigned allowing certain users to update content yet only allowing a select few to actually post information live to your site after a review and approval process.
Single User or Enterprise SCMS: Depending on the exact needs of your organization Somnia will develop either the Single User edition or the Enterprise edition of SCMS.
If your organization has one point of entry for content management and does not require the complexities associated with access rights and permissions we not only think you shouldn't have to pay for those features but you also shouldn't have them complicating your system.
The single user SCMS eliminates many of the features of the enterprise version allowing a simplified, streamlined system at a fraction of the cost.
