Blog : Our Development Process | Part 2 - Development
The build phase is a painless process, especially for you - the client - because of how much was planned ahead of time.
Recently we examined the beginning of our development process in
Part 1: Opening the "Black Box" - our web development process explained.
Today we're going to continue with Step 2 – Development.
In this stage, unfortunately the process is quite mysterious. Although we'd like to be able to explain it more clearly, this stage is the nitty gritty, full of programming markup language, Photoshop work and other gory details. This is where the development team of programmers and designers take the planning documents and implement them.
Because they'll be working from a clear set of documents that have been approved by our clients, everyone is on the same page and aware of what is being built.
As questions inevitably arise, our team will be in close contact with the client liaison.
Typical deliverables from this step are:
- Visual Design Mock-Ups – based on the wireframes and the visual assets provided to us by the client, we will draft several mock-ups to demonstrate what the new website will look like.
- Working test site - a hidden but functional website or app that allows us and the client to test.
At the end of this step, the site will be operational and ready for a complete testing phase.
Next we will discuss the third step, Step 3 - Testing & Pre-Launch.
