One of the questions we hear the most is: what is the process you will follow to design my website?

We realize that sometimes the details involved with web development can seem mysterious to those who don’t do it for a living. We want you to feel connected to your web project. So here is how we approach every project:

Step 1: First Contact

We will ask you as many questions as we can about the nature of what you are looking for, in order to get an understanding of how we can help design your website or your web application. We determine a mutual understanding of the scope of the project that will meet your goals.

Step 2: Proposal

Based on our conversations with you, we will present a clear work plan, list of deliverables, project milestones and budget for you to consider. This is a two-way process where your input is valued.

Step 3: Approval and Project Initiation

Once you are ready to proceed, we produce a Project Initiation Report, which again summarizes all key parameters such as timelines, roles and budget. When both parties confirm this document, we are ready to get started!

Step 4: Planning

In this phase we work with you to design the functions, content structure, information architecture and visual design of your web project. This usually involves using a process called “wire framing”, which helps us and you design the layout of your site before incorporating visual design.

Step 5: Build

Once the planning documents have been approved by you, we can begin building. We’ll keep you in the loop regarding the progress of your site or app’s build.

Step 6: Launch and Support

Once the project is ready to preview, we will show it to you privately. With your go-ahead, we will then launch your site to the world! From this point on, Somnia will be there for you to support the site, and provide any future changes, revisions or additions.
